NDIS Audit
NATIONAL DISABILITY INSURANCE SCHEME APPROVED AUDITOR
The Launch of NDIS
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) was introduced with the main objective of providing all Australians who acquire a permanent disability that substantially impacts their day to day life prior to age 65 access to reasonable and necessary supports to live an ordinary life.
The NDIS began on July 1st 2013 with trial sites in Tasmania for people aged 15-24, South Australia for children aged under 14, the Barwon area of Victoria and the Hunter area in NSW for people up to 65 years of age. The trials ended July 2016 when the full scheme began rolling out across Australia.
The Scheme was then rolled out to:
• NSW and SA on the 1st of July 2018
• ACT, NT, QLD, and VIC from 1st July 2019
• WA from 1st December 2020
