Our Process

Certification Process

Certifii is an independent, third-party certification body providing certification services in accordance with applicable international standards, including ISO/IEC 17021-1 (Management Systems Certification) and/or ISO/IEC 17065 (Product, Process and Service Certification), as applicable. We are committed to impartiality, competence, and consistency in all certification activities.

Application and Scope Definition

Organisations seeking certification are required to submit a formal application identifying:

  • The applicable standard or certification scheme
  • The scope of activities to be certified
  • Relevant locations and operational sites
  • Number of personnel and operational complexity (where applicable)

An application review is conducted to confirm competence, determine audit time, and ensure no conflicts of interest exist prior to proceeding.

Assessment / Audit Activities

Management Systems Certification (ISO/IEC 17021-1)

Certification is conducted in two stages:

  • Stage 1 Audit – Review of documented information, scope validation, and readiness assessment.
  • Stage 2 Audit – On-site assessment to evaluate implementation and effectiveness of the management system.
Surveillance audits are conducted at planned intervals, with recertification audits completed prior to certificate expiry.

Product / Process / Service Certification (ISO/IEC 17065)

Certification activities may include evaluation of product design, testing, inspection, review of technical documentation, factory inspection (where applicable), and ongoing surveillance activities in accordance with the applicable certification scheme.

Certification Decision

Certification decisions are made by competent personnel who were not involved in the audit or evaluation activities.

Certification is granted only when sufficient objective evidence demonstrates conformity with the applicable standard or scheme requirements.

Maintaining Certification

Certified clients must:

Continue to comply with the applicable standard or scheme requirements
Address nonconformities within specified timeframes
Inform the Certification Body of significant changes that may affect certification
Use certification references and marks in accordance with published requirements
Failure to meet certification requirements may result in suspension, reduction, or withdrawal of certification.

Granting, Extending, Reducing, Suspending and Withdrawing Certification

Certification may be:

  • Granted following successful completion of the certification process
  • Extended to include additional scope or sites following evaluation
  • Reduced to exclude activities or sites no longer meeting requirements
  • Suspended where serious nonconformities, misuse of certification, or breaches of contractual obligations occur
  • Withdrawn if suspension conditions are not resolved within specified timeframes

Updated certification status is maintained and made publicly available upon request.

Use of Certification and Certification Marks

Certified clients may only claim certification in relation to the scope, standard, and locations stated on their current certificate.

Clients shall not make misleading statements regarding certification status or imply certification of activities, products, processes, or sites that are outside the approved scope.

Certification marks must be used strictly in accordance with our published logo use guidelines. Misuse may result in corrective action, suspension, or withdrawal of certification.

Impartiality

We are committed to safeguarding impartiality in all certification activities.

A documented impartiality structure is maintained to identify, analyse, and manage risks to impartiality on an ongoing basis.

Complaints and Appeals

We maintain documented processes for handling complaints and appeals.

  • Complaints may be made by any interested party regarding certification activities or certified clients.
  • Appeals may be submitted by applicants or certified clients regarding certification decisions.

All complaints and appeals are acknowledged, investigated, and resolved in a timely, impartial, and transparent manner.

Information regarding submission of complaints and appeals is available via our website or upon request.

Confidentiality

All information obtained during certification activities is treated as confidential, except where disclosure is required by law or accreditation requirements.
